AUCTION / DINNER DANCE... PLEASE READ THE ATTACHED DINNER DANCE ANNOUNCMENT -
for weekly updates and important auction information!

FUNDRAISER FOR HAITI… the Student Council is sponsoring a fundraiser to collect funds for Catholic Relief Services that will go to the aid of Haiti.  The money is being collected through this Friday, January 22nd.

DRESS DOWN DAY – THURSDAY, JANUARY 21ST… as a result of reaching the goal of 75 lbs. of clothing from the clothing drive in December.  Each grade will wear a different color shirt – 8th gr., blue - 7th gr., white - 6th
gr., green - 5th gr., orange - 4th gr., purple - 3rd gr., black -
2nd gr., red - 1st gr., yellow - kg., brown.

SEE’S CANDY IS HERE… Place your order now for Valentine’s Day gifts.  All orders must be in by February 3rd.  The candy will arrive on February 12th at the school for distribution/pick up at the end of the day.  All proceeds will go towards the 7th/8th grade Washington, DC trip.  A 7th or 8th grader will be contacting you for an order.  Let’s try to make this a success.  Checks can be written to SPPS (St. Paul Parochial School).

ATTENTION BUS RIDERS… On Friday, January 29th, there will NOT be any bus service in the AM or PM because the public school will not be in session. Parents, you will need to find alternate transportation for your children
on that day.  However, hot lunch will be available that day.

ARE YOU INTERESTED TAKING A BABYSITTING CLASS… aught by the local chapter of The American Red Cross?  Come learn how to care for children, be a good
leader and role model, make good decisions, keep the children you baby-sit and yourself safe, and handle emergencies.  This class on Saturday, February 13th is free of charge, so take this opportunity and become a certified babysitter!  Any student in 6th-9th grade, or ages 11-15

PLEASE NOTE… We seem to be getting a number of articles of clothing that do not have a name in them and no one is claiming them.  Please put your child’s name inside sweatshirts, jackets, etc. so we can return them to the proper student.

FACTS - Is a grant and aid clearing-house for tuition assistance through the Archdiocese.  Attached is a flyer explaining how to apply online for the 2010-2011 school year.  The deadline for application for the next school year is March 15th. If you have any questions regarding this, please call the school office.

NEEDED! PICTURES FOR YEARBOOK…Pictures from any activity – sports, concerts, field trips, etc. can be dropped off in a box at the school office starting this week. Pictures can be on a CD rom, zip drive, camera disk or we can scan photos.  Please have your name on them so we can return them to you.

SODA CAN FUNDRAISER…Don’t forget to drop off your empty soda cans, water bottles, etc. at the home of Mary Kay Phillips.  She then recycles them and the funds go towards the Washington, DC trip.  As of today, $812.45
has been raised from recycling cans.

FEBRUARY BOOK CLUB…This month's selection is "The Wonderful Story of Henry Sugar" by Ronald Dahl. We will meet February 4th during lunch to discuss this story. All 4th-6th grade students are welcome to join.

FIRST AID CLASS…An American Heart Association Heartsaver First Aid Class for St. Paul Fire District patrons will be offered at the St. Paul Fire Station on Friday, February 12, 2010 beginning at 8 AM.  The course will
cover first aid and CPR for adults, children, and infants.
Pre-registration is required; call 503-633-8341.  There is a suggested donation of $20 to help cover the cost of the teaching materials.
