B-B-Q
Fundraiser
Its the Fourth of July and you can smell the
aroma all around town. Thats because its rodeo
time and the St. Paul Parish has the coals burning and the
chicken on the grill! Mmm, good!
Each year the parish and school families come together
in this little town to put on a delicious dinner that gets
talked about until next year. Its the annual St.
Paul Parish Chicken BBQ.
This event has gone on for generations and although
the menu has changed over time, the great taste has not.
People line up for a taste of our finger licking good
chicken, coleslaw and garlic bread.
The proceeds from the dinner go to the parish but in
turn also get used to help subsidize the parochial school.
It is the major fundraiser for the church.
The St. Paul community is divided into four groups
defined by the location of your home. Each group has assigned
chair people that rotate on a two-year basis. These chair
people will also be in charge of coordinating their team
during the winter to help work a shift at a parish breakfast.
Each year the groups also rotate one month forward, so that
each group gets a chance to work a different time of the
winter.
Extra hands are always needed
during this busy time of the year, so if you have a couple
of free hours to contribute during the rodeo and Fourth
of July, we can surely find an open shift for you. If you
have questions, contact the parish house at 503.633.4611.
Someone will return your call with a name of the current
chairperson(s) for the year.
